For the first musical in several years at FIU Theatre, the largest-scale musical produced here to date, the first ever musical theatre collaboration with the School of Music, and the inaugural production to serve the new BFA in Musical Theatre, my key expertise was critical. I helped to build new systems and processes in all areas from producing to technical to performance, integrating additional industry standard practices with traditional FIU theatre operations.

I collaborated with faculty and staff, students from every corner of the department, a guest artist choreographer, a graduate student music director, the chairs of Theatre and Music, and audiences from our community.

At the time, the most tenured students in the BFA Musical Theatre were only sophomores, taking on lead roles. Our stage management team and some designers were new to musicals. All students jumped in with focus and courage; it was a fantastic

experience for all.
